🇺🇸 Memorial Day Reflection — Honoring the Price of Freedom

Memorial Day Reflection — Honoring the Price of Freedom 🇺🇸

Dear Friends,

Memorial Day approaches, and across our nation folks will gather for barbecues, parades, pool openings, and time with family and friends

the traditional beginning of summer.

Yet, Memorial Day is far more than a long weekend…

As our nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, we pause to remember the true cost of freedom.

We honor the brave men and women who pledged their lives in service to our country and who never returned home. The blessings of liberty and the defense of freedom have been secured through the courage, sacrifice, and devotion of generations of Americans.

Every generation has its heroes.

Every family has its story.

Our birthright as Americans was secured through their sacrifice.

Since the founding of our nation, through every generation, we have been blessed and humbled by the courage and sacrifice of those who stood willing to defend freedom for us all.

Today, we remember the sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, friends and neighbors who answered the call to serve with honor, courage, and sacrifice.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the families who shared them with our nation

the Gold Star families whose love, sacrifice, and loss are woven into the very fabric of America. Their sacrifice did not end on the battlefield. It lives on in the empty chairs at family tables, the folded flags held tightly in trembling hands, and cherished memories wrapped in the quiet courage carried forward by those left behind.

May we never take such sacrifice for granted.

As the flags wave and our communities gather this Memorial Day, may we pause in gratitude, pray for our nation, honor the fallen, and recommit ourselves to preserving the freedoms entrusted to us.

President Ronald Reagan often reminded our nation that freedom is neither automatic nor without sacrifice:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”

“We owe them a debt we can never repay.

And, as we are enjoying the start of summer and remember America’s fallen heroes this Memorial Day, may we never forget the price that was paid for the freedoms we now enjoy.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

— John 15:13
